Submit online through the The Minneapolis Foundation’s website. Please submit an inquiry that describes the following:
Your organization’s mission and programs.
The type of support you are requesting (general operating or project support).
Your total project budget (if applicable).
The amount of funding you are requesting.
Your organization’s current annual budget.
Your proposed work and how it aligns with one or more of the Foundation’s key priorities.
The target populations of your organization’s proposed work.
Your organization’s expected program results or outcomes.

Who is eligible to apply for a grant?
To be eligible for support, an organization must be tax-exempt or operate under the fiscal sponsorship of a tax-exempt nonprofit. The Foundation does not fund individuals, endowments, political organizations, political fundraising, or political lobbying.
Are applications accepted via mail or email?
No. The Foundation has an online application process. Applications are accepted through The Minneapolis Foundation’s website.
Does the Foundation accept unsolicited funding requests at other times of the year?
The Foundation conducts one grant round per year that typically begins in the spring. Please sign up for emails to be notified of the dates and process for our annual grant round.
Is the Ciresi Walburn Foundation part of The Minneapolis Foundation?
No. The Foundation is an independent private foundation with a separate board of trustees, which contracts with The Minneapolis Foundation to leverage its staffing and operating support, as well as community expertise. .
